Roy Buchanan - American Axe - Live In 1974

Personnel: Roy Buchanan (vocals, guitar); Malcolm Lukens (vocals, organ); John Harrison (vocals, bass); Byrd Foster (vocals, drums). Recorded live in September and December 1974. This release however is a monster. Over and over the listener is reminded what a fine bluesman Roy was. Done Your Daddy Dirty is a simple riff that builds into yet another display of Buchanan's tricks of the trade. His take on Dave Edmund's Hear You Knockin'is wonderful as is his version of CC Rider. And there's the old favourites like Messiah and Bluz. This is a fine album and also a sad reminder of the great loss to music Mr. Buchanan's passing was.
